As the rain poured down on the steps of the U.S. Capitol, a group of senior citizens gathered, their voices a chorus of determination, as they demanded justice for the immigrant caretakers who have been a lifeline for them in their golden years. Among them was Rita Siebenaler, an 82-year-old widow who had seen firsthand the impact of the Trump administration's decision to terminate Temporary Protected Status, a designation that has allowed hundreds of thousands of immigrants to work and live in the country, but is now under threat of being stripped away.
